2008 Submissions

Four Way Books has two reading periods each year — January 1 - March 31 (contest) and June 1- June 30. Our next contest will be for the Levis Poetry Prize, to be judged by Mary Jo Bang. Our next open reading period for poetry and short fiction will be in June 2009. If you missed our June deadline, you may query us to see if we can read your manuscript outside of this period. If we can, we will. If we can't, we will ask that you send it to us during our regular reading period. Please do not just send a manuscript to us without querying first. Please check our guidelines in November for our contest and in May for our June reading period.

Status of submissions

We are pleased to announce that the winner of the 2008 Intro Prize has been selected by Brigit Pegeen Kelly.

Jamie Ross's collection BRINGING IN THE NAME will be published in the first quarter of 2010. He will also receive an honorarium of $1000.00 and a reading in NYC's Readings on the Bowery, sponsored by Four Way Books. Jamie lives in Carson, New Mexico.

We want to thank everyone who submitted work to the Four Way Books Intro Prize.

If you submitted your manuscript in June, we will get back to you between end of August and mid October. Reading manuscripts is a slow process. We have many readers and we deliberate a long time over the manuscripts. Please be patient!
