\nmarks territories, summons mates. How<\/p>\n

a lip rasped over finely tined ridges can
\nplay sweet as a needle on vinyl. But
\nsometimes a lone body is not enough.
\nSo a sapsucker drums the chimney flash<\/p>\n

for our amped-up morning reveille. Or,
\nlater, home again, the wind\u2019s papery
\ncome hither through the locust leaves. The roof
\narcing its tin back to meet the rain.<\/p>\n

The bed\u2019s soft creak as I roll to my side.
\nWhat sounds will your body make against mine?<\/p>\n
