Immediately we are thrust into a teetering, asymmetric world where a speaker, \u201cdeaf in one ear,\u201d ponders that \u201cthe Moon\u2019s dark side \/ has no sound.\u201d Elsewhere, another pair, a mother and child finally \u201ctake the journey they\u2019d talked about\u201d but it is \u201ca Sunday drive on Tuesday,\u201d a near-miss \u201conly tracing circumferences.\u201d Healy\u2019s poems concern themselves with these and other disappointments as well with the tendernesses of important relationships: what it is that occurs between lovers, parents and children, between past and present, between mind and body.<\/p>\n<p>This is a book of \u201csalt and work,\u201d of survival: surviving ourselves, our illnesses, our language.
