These poems, through sensuous impressions, mimic what it\u2019s like to wake from a dream only to realize you are still inside the dream. We encounter gluttony pinned against starvation\u2014\u201cceiling high cream cakes, \/ I ran twelve miles in my ballet leotard\u201d and the glamorous mixed with the grotesque \u2014\u201cI follow a sequin \/ Thread of dead things.\u201d Through \u201cbrutal music,\u201d Wunderkammer<\/em> grips at the edges of memory and chaos; these poems have \u201cfound the kill \/ And entered it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Where I am the weather is\nSpectacular damage, and hustle.\n\nAnd inside my tiny Berlin,\nI am packed, already, in a casket\n\nTo be returned in a pearl-\nStudded palanquin \n<\/pre>\n

Beneath the blood \nAnd rattle, I saw the moon \n\nFloat over a field \nOf white horses, a blind king \n\nWhispering in Old German. \nThey'll hook the gloomed world \n\nBack into me, its menageries \nAnd zoos of wounds, its museums \n\nOf memory, and trauma. In the city \nOf palaces, I lived \n\nInside a doll house \nMansion, Chateau Feral, \n\nChateau Bloodhound. \nDeep inside the primordial forest. \n\nI was born \nOn its warm floor \n\nInside the murk of the underworld, \nAnd filled, at birth, with a green ocean of terror.<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n
